A massive fire broke out at the Shri Banke Bihari Chemical Plant in the Badalpur area of Greater Noida on Saturday morning, following a series of explosions. The fire, which began around 3:25 am, caused a thick column of black smoke to rise from the plant on Dujana Road. Local residents reported hearing multiple loud explosions before the fire started, which intensified the situation. Firefighting teams were immediately alerted, and 32 fire tenders were deployed to control the blaze.
The fire caused extensive damage to the chemical plant, but as of now, no injuries or fatalities have been reported. The rapid response by the fire department helped prevent further spread of the flames. The fire services continued their efforts throughout the day, focusing on containing the blaze and preventing it from reaching nearby structures. The cause of the explosion and fire remains under investigation, with authorities examining the plant’s operations for any potential faults or hazards.
In a separate but significant part of the rescue operations, local police managed to free 25 cows that were trapped inside the chemical plant. A JCB machine was used to break a wall to access the area where the cows were trapped. The animals were safely evacuated from the premises, with no reports of injury. The rescue efforts were coordinated with the fire department and local authorities to ensure the safety of both people and animals.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Shakti Mohan Awasthi confirmed that the fire services were promptly dispatched to the site after receiving the alarm. "We received information about the fire at the Shri Banke Bihari Chemical Plant on Dujana Road in the Badalpur police station area. We took immediate action and dispatched a fire services unit to the site," Awasthi stated. He emphasized that efforts were being made to ensure no further harm or casualties occurred during the emergency response.
The investigation into the cause of the explosion and fire is ongoing, with local authorities focusing on the chemical plant’s safety protocols and maintenance procedures. A team of experts has been assigned to assess the plant's structural integrity, as well as any chemicals that may have contributed to the fire. A heavy police presence remained in the area to ensure public safety and to assist with the investigation as firefighting operations continue.
